Biden’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, accompanied him to Paris on his European trip, which also included a stop in Germany.​

I'm not screwing around here. My list is legit. It is straight from Yahoo's list of the top ten trending stories in America. The ten news items that most concern the informed American electorate.

You know, I just noticed something (I probably knew it once and forgot): Heyesey is from the U.K.

Heyesey, if you're reading, I'll back off a bit to say, "Sorry about insulting your mother." Since you are from England, I can kind of understand how the News Corp phone tap scandal would be front and center on your radar.

But as Americans, the phone tap scandal takes a back seat to much bigger concerns:

1. The Obama Administration, through the Attorney General's Office (Holder), is harassing News Corp. over allegegations of improprieties in China. (News Corp's China coverage has embarassed high ranking friends of the regime, such as Imelt/General Electric among others.) Holder is having a difficult time making the charges stick, so the propaganda campaign is running full blast to smear. Yes, the UK phone tap scandal happened, but it is being used now by the Obama campaign as an ad hominem smear of Murdoch, himself. Otherwise it would not be news at all, and no one on this forum or anywhere else would be ranting about it.

2. The Americans who are paying attention are just a little bit worried about the efforts of the government to muzzle News Corp, because here on this side of the pond, News Corp is the only contrarian news that we get. (Apart from blowhards on talk radio, like Rush Limbaugh, who really are not in the news business at all and are more accurately classified as entertainers.)


So, I can see why in the U.K., you guys and gals might want Murdoch's head on a pike. But here in America, News Corp is the last bastion between an informed electorate and de Tocqueville's post-democractic anarchy.
