Fire Breaks Out At Hotel Fairmont Rooftop Restaurant Near Mumbai Airport
Seven to eight fire engines were immediately dispatched to the scene to control the blaze

A fire broke out at a rooftop restaurant of Hotel Fairmont near Mumbai airport on Saturday evening. The blaze was brought under control after one and a half hours, and no injuries were reported.
The fire, which happened at the Hotel Fairmont in Vile Parle (East), near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, was classified as a “level one" or minor incident.

It was confined to the air-conditioning unit and exhaust system on the rooftop terrace, affecting an area between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet, officials said.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames after around 90 minutes. About 70 to 80 people were safely evacuated from the 10-storey hotel using the staircase.
Many on social media shared visuals of the massive fire on the rooftop the hotel, showing thick black smoke billowing from the building.

A total of three fire engines and three water tankers were dispatched to control the fire. The cause of the blaze is still unknown and is under investigation.
