One mor thing before I go. Just got this chain letter and thought I'd share it with you. Originally, it was made by George Carlin and somehow found its way to my mailbox. I actually agree with a lot of what it says. Not all of it, but a lot of it... What do you think?

I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause. ​

I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents. ​

And what is going on with gas prices... Again?​

I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think. ​

I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA! ​

A quick check at snopes.com reveals this letter is a fake and did not originate from George Carlin. That's a good thing because I really like George Carlin and hate most of what this letter says and stands for.

It obviously isn't Carlin. These things seemed to get attributed to famous people becouse somehow that makes them more credible. I find it funny how many people don't care if it aligns with the assigned author's points of view.

This one for sure does not sound like anything Carlin would say. According to Snopes it originated at FreedomRepublic.com in 2000 under the heading of "I am a bad Republican."

Would you feel differently if you knew George Carlin never said any of this?

Here's what amazed me is I read that thread. Used the example many times since and then when I went back to find noticed I never even commented on the actual thread.

But, when you think about how close we were to total destruction and were saved by one man and his gut feeling. It's also so ironic that this one hero turned out to be one of those evil communist Russians. Kind of blows the evil empire scheme doesn't it.

And there to me is no reason for that. I don't know who said it but it had to be a long time ago; if it looks like crap, and smells like crap it is crap. Or the one I like better if it looks like crap, and smells like crap, there's no need to taste it to be sure.

This was a good one Pornluvr. And it probably belongs on the Abortion thread but this is much more in line with Carlin's character: "Did you ever notice that most women who oppose abortion are women you wouldn't want to fuck in the first place."
